To get fans excited for her new album, singer-songwriter Katy Perry commissioned a gold, 18-wheeler semi truck to be made. Sporting an opulent gold sheen, the truck reads “Katy Perry – Prism – 10 – 22 – 13” in black lettering on the side. It details the release date of “Prism”, her newest album since 2010’s “Teenage Dream”. The truck has been touring across the country to promote it, and Katy Perry tweeted that anyone who found the truck and took a picture of it would be retweeted.

However, in a strange turn of events, the flashy truck was hit by a drunk driver in another semi-truck in a Wal-Mart parking lot. The truck is bright gold, seventy feet long and was stopped- it’s really no surprise the driver was drunk. The driver of the Katty Perry rig was inside the Wal-Mart so he was unhurt.

The drunk driver initially fled the scene, but returned upon realizing that was the best decision to make. The front cabin of the Prism semi was damaged quite badly, but no one else was inside so therefore no one was hurt.

As if the story wasn’t weird enough, the suspect returned to the scene without pants on. The officers report that with slurred speech, he stated “I’m really bad. I’ve been drinking.” He first told officers that he could not get out of the cab because he did not have pants on, then attempted to dress himself and fell over. He told officers he had drank half a bottle of vodka.

It all happened around 5 p.m. on August 9th in Pennsylvania. The man was arrested immediately.

The performer is hoping that this isn’t a bad omen for her new album, and promised fans that the truck will go on. The exact tweet was “THE #PRISM SEMI IS BUMPED & BRUISED BUT SHE IS A CHAMPION! SHE WILL RETURN…” The singer is estimated to be worth $75 million dollars so she wouldn’t necessarily need a personal injury attorney to help recover any damages.

A couple days later, fellow pop star Lady Gaga posted a tweet of sympathy for the truck being hit and for Katy Perry’s new single being leaked.
