DUI FOUNDATION

Driving under the influence of alcohol and other impairing substances is an epidemic in our society that doesn’t appear to be going away in the near future. We can never educate people enough on the dangers of this behavior and the consequences it can have on the driver and others around them. It is our goal to help people realize the life-altering effects drinking and driving can have on us and hopefully convince our visitors to think twice the next time they consider getting behind the wheel after having a few too many.

Some of the most recent drunk driving facts are concerning, according to MADD: an average drunk driver has driven drunk 80 timesbefore first their first arrest, every two minutes a person is injured in a drunk driving crash, drunk driving costs the United States $199 billion a year, and every day, another 28 people die as a result of drunk driving crashes.

ABOUT DUI FOUNDATION

Here at DUI Foundation, we hope to reinforce the ideal that a single drunk driving accident can permanently have a negative impact on you, the passengers in your vehicle, and anyone else involved in the disaster (i.e. drivers and passengers in other automobiles and even pedestrians). Furthermore, if someone is badly injured or killed, you must take into account the misery their family and friends will face. Too many people say, “that will never happen to me,” but it is this type of denial that can be very detrimental.

Every state has different legislation in place in terms of how it handles civilians who are caught driving under the influence. No matter where you reside, we have broken down the laws and information for all 50 states. As each state enforces varying levels of law, policy, and legislation. So no matter where you reside, the DUI Foundation aims to provide state specific facts across our entire knowledge center.

One issue we cannot stress enough is the importance of support groups for those who may have been severely injured or have lost a loved one as a result of an alcohol-related crash. Likewise, those battling an addiction to alcohol and other drugs require support and guidance to get them on the road to sobriety. We highlight some of these key programs and provide contact information for people in need.
