Here at the DUI Foundation, we’re excited to partner with Carrie Armstrong, with the How To Be A Sober Girl blog. You can check out her blog here. Over the next thirty days, she has committed to a How To Be A Sober Girl 30 Day Kickstart campaign and we’ll be sharing her stories right here.

And without any more time, here’s Day Nine:

Us folk who engage in alcohol abuse love the comfort and familiarity of routine. We are really good at sticking to it and building habits. they just tend to be bad habits and bad routines. We are also great at reminiscing on the past. It just tends to be reminiscing over old injustices and negative memories.

Luckily this ability at being genius creators at habits, and the excellent skills we have at recalling the past with incredible attention to detail, is something we can really use to huge advantage. And I would like this to be the skill we learn to use today…

Have fun with it! Relish in the comfort of old routine and recalling old memories from a time before alcohol became a key player in our day to day life. I guarantee you are going to be really good at this.
