Recently announced by the New York State Governors Traffic Safety Committee and the NYS STOP DWI Foundation, a new mobile app has recently been launched for Apple, Android, and Windows smart phones in effort to making our roads safer.

The new, Have A Plan mobile app encourages potential drivers to have a plan to get home safely if they are impaired by alcohol or drugs. The app features timely and convenient resources that enable you to locate and call a taxi service, personalize a designated-driver list, educate yourself on Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) levels as well as information on DWI laws and penalties and even report a suspected impaired driver.

Suzanne Cirencione, STOP DWI Administrator says “Have A Plan app can help guide individuals to make the right choice to get home safely. Don’t put yourself or others in harm’s way by driving while impaired.”

The app can only approximate your impairment and the amount of alcohol in your system and should only be used as a guideline. You can still be arrested for DWI with a BAC under 0.08% if you show signs of impaired driving regardless of your ability to complete one or more of the games.
